The Scientific Committee invites the submission of abstracts for poster and oral presentation (symposium) for a conference to be held in the Manila Hotel, Centennial Hall entitled: “Longevity, Public Health and Policy” on November 8-10, 2007.

The Conference is primarily organized in four sections:

1. Biological/Social/Behavioral Lifestyle of Healthy Longevity
2. Clinical Geriatrics
3. Public Health
4. Policy on Aging

ABSTRACT should focus on these four major topics.

ABSTRACT TEXT: The text should be typed as a single paragraph with no paragraph indentations and single space. With a maximum of 330 word counts. Use the headings Aims;, Methods:,Results:,and Conclusions: typed in bold (including the colon), where applicable.

Keywords: Provide up to 10 key words at the bottom of the abstract. Do not use a font size less than 11 point. Participants who are going to submit their Abstract are requested to indicate their choice of oral (symposium) or poster presentations on the Registration form, however the Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final decision on the form of presentation. All abstracts submitted will be subject to editorial review.

Criteria  for Review of Abstracts
Abstracts should be factual and report on significant research findings. Its content should have the following:

• Originality of ideas and methods
• Specificity of methods and findings
• Clarity of theoretical  and/or applied implications
  Quality of writing

Abstracts Publication
Upon acceptance, Abstract will be published on-line (Website), and in Okinawa Wellness & Longevity Journal  (OWLJ) ISSN#

Registration and Attendance of first author is required.
If any abstract submitted is not accepted and as a result the author was unable to attend, the registration fees will be refunded in full.

Notification, Attendance & Registration
By late August 2007, letters will be e-mailed to the first author regarding the status of each submission. If accepted, the first author will be notified of the date, time period, and location for presentation (Poster or Symposium). First author is asked to notify fellow members of their abstract’s acceptance. If e-mail notification is not received by the end of August, please contact Secretariat.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Abstracts should be submitted as Microsoft Word for Windows documents; and as an attachments to an email: AbstractsHealthyLongevity’07. The subject line of the email MUST be “author surname”.
